About Leviathan

Small businesses deserve big technology.

The tools that make a company look capable online have never been better, cheaper or more available. They have also, almost entirely, stayed pointed at companies that could already afford them. Leviathan exists to aim them somewhere more useful.

How the gap actually works

Nobody is
cheating.

Worth being precise about this, because the usual explanations are wrong. It isn’t that big companies are ruthless or that small ones are lazy. It’s a chain of three ordinary steps.

Every step in that chain is reasonable. The result is that looking capable became something you can buy — at a price set well out of reach of the businesses that would benefit from it most.

Why Leviathan exists

Technology compounds.
So does the gap.

Every year the tools get faster, better and cheaper. And every year the distance between what a large company can put online and what a small one can grows anyway — because better tools mostly reach the people who already had a budget for tools. The gap isn’t closing on its own. It compounds, in the same direction, at the same speed as everything else.

Somewhere inside that gap is Joe, who makes a better sandwich than any chain within fifty miles and is trying to cover his daughter’s ballet lessons. The business outranking him has a design team, a brand agency and a budget line for both. Joe has a sandwich shop and about forty minutes on a Sunday.

Leviathan exists to close that specific distance — efficiently enough, and affordably enough, that Joe never has to choose between looking legitimate online and paying for the recital.

What we believe

Four things,
held fairly firmly.

  1. 01

Presentation is not the same as substance — but it is what gets judged first.

A customer on a phone can’t taste your food, inspect your work or meet your staff. They can only look. Whatever they see stands in for everything they can’t.

  2. 02

Good technology shouldn’t be rationed by budget.

The gap between a national chain’s website and a great local shop’s website is almost never about talent or care. It is about who could afford a design team. That gap is closable, and it should be.

  3. 03

The client shouldn’t have to learn our job.

You should not need to understand hosting, DNS, content management or responsive breakpoints to end up with a good website. If our process requires you to become technical, our process is wrong.

  4. 04

Show the work before asking for the money.

Anyone can describe what they’d build. Two free homepage concepts, made for your actual business, settle the question before you’ve risked anything. That is why they exist.

How we operate

Most of what you pay
an agency for
is the agency.

Not a dig at agencies. Those roles are real work and they exist for real reasons. They are simply reasons that have very little to do with your website.

Where the money goes at a typical agency

  • Account managers and client services
  • Project coordinators
  • A sales team
  • An office, and everything in it
  • The people who manage those people
  • …and somewhere in there, your website

Where it goes here

  • Your website

Leviathan is built the other way round. Modern tooling does the heavy lifting that used to need a floor of people, and the savings show up in the two places you can actually see: the price, and how fast it gets finished. Not in a bigger organisation.

Technology is the leverage. It is not the product, and you will never be asked to care about it. The website is the product.

  • No handoffs One person, start to finish. Nothing gets lost between departments that don’t exist.
  • No queue Email a question, get an answer from someone who knows the project.
  • No mystery team You always know exactly who is doing the work and who is responsible for it.

What the model buys you

Philosophy is cheap.
Here are the numbers.

  • $949.99 A complete website Strategy, design, build, mobile, SEO foundation and launch.
  • 48hrs Typical build time From the moment we have your materials — not from your first email.
  • 2 Free concepts first Real homepage directions for your business, before you spend anything.
  • 1 Person, throughout The same one who designs it, builds it and answers your email.

None of those numbers survive an agency’s overhead. That is the entire argument for operating this way.

Where we are

Leviathan is early. That’s the whole advantage.

We’re not going to pretend to a decade of case studies, a wall of logos or testimonials nobody wrote. Leviathan is new, and inventing social proof would undercut the one thing we are actually selling: work you can look at before you pay for it.

What being early buys you is real attention. Your project is not one of forty in a pipeline. It gets built by someone with something to prove, and the free concepts mean you can judge that claim yourself in a few days rather than taking it on faith.

You’ve been on this website for a few minutes. That’s already more evidence than most agencies give you before the first invoice.

Who’s behind it

Built by an engineer.
Run like one.

Leviathan comes out of a background in civil engineering and project management rather than advertising, and that shows up in how the work runs more than in how it looks: define the problem before proposing a solution, sequence it so nothing stalls waiting on a decision nobody made, hold a standard for the parts nobody will see, and say things in plain language. Deadlines are commitments. Details are the job.

  • Structured problem solving
  • Project management discipline
  • Detail orientation
  • Direct client communication
  • Personal accountability for the result
